Aten Sundial is a part of the J.D. Gard Design company. J.D. Gard Design produces Industrial tooling such as custom CNC tooling plates and blocks, CNC fixturing, pallet systems and aerospace and optics prototypes. The photo above is a horizontal CNC machining center, for those not familiar with these machines, they are Computer Numerically Controlled (C.N.C.) machining centers or lathes. With the correct programming they will produce parts with amazing accuracy.

We are located Southwest of Tucson Arizona in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. This area, with many days per year of perfectly clear skies, is very conducive to an interest in sundials, and the most accurate type of sundial is the heliochronometer.
